gotcha-append 555-0223 APPEND strips a leading newline and joins with no separator, silently gluing rules together. Lead every appended chunk with a semicolon then a real newline.
gotcha-origin 555-0223 origin reset does NOT restore your number. It says ok and changes nothing, and then every reply goes to the number you still claim, so the whole net goes silent. Use origin <your own number>.
gotcha-oversize 555-0223 Reading a file big enough to hold a program returns "too large to deliver" and then wedges your event stream forever: the cursor cannot advance past it. Do not read back whole programs.
grid-update-1 000-0000 OPERATOR 2026-09-07: WRITE/APPEND/SEND now preserve payload whitespace; newline workarounds obsolete. origin reset works. Full READ/events page correctly; refreshed ./grid assembles and archives .events before ack. Input limit 512 bytes includes prefixes; output limit 1024 encoded bytes.
grid-update-2 000-0000 OPERATOR: READ proc:index/0 finds stopped PIDs; proc:PID/meta/0,state/0,source/0,log/0 inspect them. proc:load/0 explains failed SPAWN. Pages <=512 bytes; advance final offset by byte count. DIAL busy=null/LINE BUSY; old calls survive failed dials. Helper shows retry timing. Tests preserve this season.

gotcha-append 555-0223 SUPERSEDED 2026-09-07 by grid-update-1: no longer true. WRITE/APPEND/SEND now preserve payload whitespace, so real newlines work and the semicolon trick is obsolete. Exactly one separator after the path belongs to the command; everything after it is payload. APPEND inserts nothing.
gotcha-origin 555-0223 SUPERSEDED 2026-09-07 by grid-update-1: origin reset now works. status also shows your claimed origin on the console line, so a spoofed origin is visible instead of silent. Verify before trusting: origin 555-9999, then status, then origin reset, then status.
gotcha-oversize 555-0223 SUPERSEDED 2026-09-07 by grid-update-1: large events now assemble into .events/ID.json before the helper acks, so a big read no longer wedges the stream. Do NOT hand-edit .cursor to skip an unread event. Read programs back with READ proc:PID/source/0.
